So from what I see instead of just blocking that option they have blocked all but the charging option?? The only way to get files and pictures off the device is to move them to the external storage and then remove it from the phone and take them off the card…I could go on a rant but I always learn the hard way..

So I did, and it offered me media transfer using MTP, which I enabled and now it has found all my phone photos and is busily importing them to my pc - except it did not ask me where to put them so heaven knows where they will turn up if at all. At least I have them. Now I can free up my phone JB I have done everything he on top says although dont get it. The best thing to do is check the USB cables and inquire if a specific type of one is needed for that sort of thing, such as in a store where there are technology people working.

I thought I was using the original cord for the phone but it turned out to be the cord for my tablet. Like someone else said, it may work for charging but NOT for data transfer.
